Position Title: Lead Hand - Maintenance

About The Role.

The Maintenance Lead Hand will be responsible for the condition inspection program and buildings & grounds for the plant. This role requires extensive experience working with condition monitoring, and reliability engineering principles to enhance the equipment performance, reduce unplanned downtime, and support production targets. This position will be reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and will be the lead for condition inspection and lubrication team.

What You’ll Be Doing.

  • Troubleshoots and maintains plant equipment.
  • Provide project support and coordination.
  • Contact person for onsite contractors as required
  • Work with Regional reliability team to improve equipment availability.
  • Passes on information, experiences and knowledge to other maintenance employees in regards to repair jobs, preventive maintenance, problem symptoms, etc. which he/she may be involved with during his/her shift
  • Maintains safety standards of equipment and work area according to established procedures and as instructed by the supervisor
  • Required meeting participation.
  • Ensures work areas are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times
  • Leads the team with reliability and accountability.
  • Works in a cost-effective manner and maintains a high standard of quality and excellent workmanship.
  • Participate in ongoing training programs as required to maintain and enhance skills
  • Responsible for trouble free operation of all equipment on site
  • Must comply with GMP’s, Safety, and HACCP Best Operating Procedures.
  • Must be able and willing to promote continuous improvement of workplace safety.
  • All other assigned tasks or functions as designated by Maintenance Supervisor

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

  • Minimum 1 year of leadership experience
  • Licensed Red Seal Journeyperson Millwright or Electrician (dual ticket preferred)
  • Specialized knowledge in condition monitoring
  • Strong understanding of reliability principles
  • Strong Mechanical and/or electrical Aptitude
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret equipment data and generate actionable insights
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Be able to read and understand blueprints, P&ID’s, equipment manuals and other relevant material.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Controlling operations of equipment or systems
  • Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft office and adobe pdf
  • The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.

Compensation Package: $54.87 CAD hourly
