Job summary

Horizon Contracting Group is seeking a Lead Hand in Landscape Construction to guide teams and manage projects across the Lower Mainland. This hands-on role helps you build toward a Foreman position while shaping outstanding outdoor spaces with a skilled team.

You will operate various tools and equipment, set grades, install features, and lead on-site activities. The role emphasizes safety, communication, and client collaboration in dynamic outdoor environments.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in landscaping or construction.
• Previous leadership experience is an asset.
• Computer/iPad literacy is an asset for planning and tracking work.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
• Detail-oriented and able to juggle multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
• Physical stamina to work outdoors, lift heavy loads and adapt to weather.

Responsibilities

• Set grades with laser levels, screed sand for pavers, and lay base courses for walls.
• Install green roofs, water features, and plant landscapes following standards.
• Lead on-site activities and step in as the site leader when needed.

• Work closely with customers and teammates to build positive working relationships.
• Participate in company-sponsored training and educational opportunities.

What You'll Bring
