Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring Food Service Workers to support daily operations in on-site dining and retail environments. Responsibilities include food prep, serving customers, cashiering, and maintaining sanitation standards.

The hourly wage starts at $18.20 CAD, with final compensation determined by relevant skills, experience, and internal equity. Canadian work experience is not required for this role, and AI-based screening tools may be used during recruitment.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification required.
• Familiar with cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Good command of English in speaking and writing and ability to follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations, stove and fridge following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas with proper wrapping, dating and rotation.
• Set up items for daily purchase.
• Perform cleaning duties and remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow recipes and production standards to ensure quality and portion control; notify cooks if temperatures are off.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

• Perform prep work such as washing, peeling, cutting and seeding fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator in accordance with safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning duties; remove trash and garbage to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
• Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
