Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is hiring a Food Service Worker in Ontario. You will prepare, present and serve meals, ensuring high quality and attractive presentation across retail and service points.

Responsibilities include prep work, safe handling of food, stocking, cashiering and maintaining cleanliness. Experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast-food environments is an asset; FoodSafe Level 1 is required. English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 certification is required.
• Familiar with the use of a cash register is an asset.
• Strong time management and organizational skills to manage heavy workload.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team setting as required.
• Good command of English language, verbal and written, follow instructions.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform prep work: wash, peel, cut and seed fruits/vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to/from work stations, stove and fridge following safety standards.
• Store food in designated areas with proper dating and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase on a daily basis.
• Perform general cleaning duties and remove trash to designated areas.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following steps of service.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety requirements.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

The hourly wage is $17.60. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
