Qualifications

  • Experience in completing third party verifications is essential.

About the Role

Support Egis’s clientele in evaluating and completing Greenhouse Gas Verifications at energy facilities for the following purposes :

  • Greenhouse gas verifications or validations for the following :

Alberta’s Technology and Innovation Emission Reduction (TIER)

  • British Columbia Greenhouse Gas Emission Reporting Regulation
  • Oil and Gas Emission Management Regulations (Saskatchewan)
  • Additional Provincial carbon-related regulations as required.
  • Alberta Carbon Offset Registry (and other carbon markets where applicable)
  • Federal GHG Reporting programs as required

Key Responsibilities :

  • Competently leads Greenhouse Gas Emission Verifications
  • Qualified to Sign off as a Lead Verifier under TIER
  • Provide education internally and externally on requirements of verification process
  • Business Development support to grow clientele in new service offering
  • Train other employees on GHG Verifications and coordinate their support on verification projects
  • Keep ahead of emerging requirements that will impact GHG Verifications at a provincial, and national level
  • Must follow Egis’s internal procedures and policies when conducting Verification as per our accreditation with ANSI Accreditation.

What do we need from you

  • Strong technical proficiency in GHG quantification and Carbon Offset protocols
  • Successfully Completed ISO 14064-3 : 2006 Greenhouse gases- Part 3
  • Must have experience in completing third party verifications.
  • Awareness of emerging / future environmental regulations, and ability to strategically plan and integrate for effective and sustainable program development
  • Recognized degree / diploma in environmental engineering or environmental science and professional designation, which is not required but is considered an asset
  • Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to educate both internally and externally to clients
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete AEPA Verification Training
