Job summary

RBC is seeking a Lead Software Developer in Vancouver to design and build large-scale data processing applications within a microservices architecture. You will work cross-functionally with teams across Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal & Commercial Banking and Wealth Management to deliver robust solutions.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
Extensive software development, scripting and project management experience.
Experience using monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic) and automated testing frameworks.
Knowledge of programming languages (Python, C++) and JavaScript.
In-depth knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.
Ability to work independently.
BSc/BA in Computer Science or a related degree.

Job Description

Lead Software Developer is responsible for developing software application with large-scale data processing and analysis going on in the background and a microservices architecture. You will work with all stakeholders to design best in class technology solutions. As a Lead Software Developer, you will be a part of the EDA team, developing applications for large-scale data processing and analysis performing data modeling and building the data infrastructure that powers effective decision-making. You will be working in a cross functional team that supports various businesses, and you will have an opportunity to work with different kinds of datasets and work on software applications. You will collaborate with other developers and business partners to deliver medium – high complexity initiatives aligned with EDA and GFT strategic objectives.
