Job summary

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited (DHC) in Calgary is seeking a Lead FTAS to plan, coordinate, and supervise aircraft mechanics supporting flight test vehicles. You will ensure airworthiness, compliance with Transport Canada regulations, and adherence to SOPs and manuals.

You will provide technical leadership, mentor maintenance staff, and oversee repairs, modifications, and scheduled maintenance while driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) licence: M2 or B1/B2 equivalent certification.
• Minimum 10 years in a transport-category flight test environment.
• 2–3 years of experience working on DHC aircraft models.
• Proven experience leading maintenance teams in aircraft maintenance, modification, or flight test environment.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Additional aviation or maintenance certifications are asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily activities of aircraft maintenance employees assigned to flight test operations.
• Ensure maintenance activities are performed and documented in accordance with SOPs, AMMs, SRMs, SBs, ADs and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to develop proficiency and resolve maintenance issues.
• Perform and document aircraft maintenance work in accordance with approved manuals, procedures, and regulations.
• Support removals, installations, modifications, and troubleshooting for flight test aircraft.
