Position Summary

The Lead, Finance and Treasury is responsible for assisting in providing leadership within the General Ledger department, a team of specialist technicians, coordinating the financial/management reporting functions (internally and externally), and General Ledger and Accounting within a complex organizational framework. Other key responsibilities include providing technical expertise and guidance to the Regional Manager, Financial Reporting & Treasury Services (Regional Manager). The Lead, Finance and Treasury ensures all financial transactions have been reflected appropriately and completely in the financial statements and coordinates activities of staff engaged in these functions to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness; this includes setting processing priorities, deadlines and evaluating required journal entries. The Lead, Finance and Treasury makes decisions, or provides input, and makes recommendations to the Regional Manager on financial issues as they relate to the policies and operating procedures of Northern Health (NH). The Lead, Finance and Treasury assists in the development of appropriate internal control systems and financial processes to ensure compliance with established guidelines, such as the CICA Handbook, MIS guidelines, etc., and implementing changes as required.

Starting salary will be approximately from $74,618 to $93,273 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce with a major in Accounting plus five (5) years of recent, related experience in accounting in a large organization or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience working in a medical or health care environment an asset.

• Proficiency in the use of personal computers and computerized financial systems.

• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
