Position Summary

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Elevator Mechanic to join our team in Calgary. This role is responsible for leading the installation, maintenance, and servicing of elevators and lifts in residential and low-rise commercial buildings. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background, a high level of professionalism, and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the installation, maintenance, and service of elevators and lifts according to technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed with a focus on quality—no shortcuts—with all units running flawlessly upon completion.
  • Perform thorough checks and inspections to ensure compliance with building codes and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Exhibit professional conduct at all times—courteous, respectful, and representing Savaria with integrity when dealing with customers, colleagues, and other trades.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, stooping, walking, and handling heavy materials.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on-site and implement effective solutions.
  • Foster a safe and cooperative work environment and provide mentorship to apprentices or junior mechanics as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure smooth coordination and timely project completion.

  • Grade 12 diploma is required; must be certified as an Elevator Constructor and Mechanic.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Clean police check and bondable.
  • Neat, clean appearance with a customer-focused attitude.
