Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Distribution Design team supporting Saskatchewan and Alberta. The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration across design teams, and delivering projects that meet client expectations.

You will specialize in overhead and underground distribution systems, coordinate with multiple disciplines, and travel to sites as required. A PE licence in Canada is preferred and SAP, GIS, and Bluebeam experience are assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in any Canadian province is required.
• Previous Distribution Design experience with utility or equivalent.
• Proficiency with SAP, GIS tools, Bluebeam, AGI 32, Pull Planner.

Responsibilities

• Understand and ensure client expectations related to project scope are met and exceeded.
• Establish and maintain positive internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Development of project planning documents and client progress reports.
• Support development of proposals, project cost estimates and project schedules.
• Coordination and/or facilitation of key meetings or review points; follow-up on all action items.
• Provide proactive project change, risk and stakeholder management support.
• Act as single point technical interface for the project and provide guidance to engineering disciplines.
• Ensure procurement packages are produced in accordance with cost, schedule and quality requirements.
• Review project documentation and perform Engineer of Record duties prior to issue for accuracy.
• Apply proactive communication with key stakeholders.
• Resolve complex issues with progressive experience and knowledge.
• Coordinate construction support activities; travel to site 3-5 days/quarter.
