The electrical group is a dynamic team combining engineering, design, and leadership to support our clients effectively. Success requires a solid engineering education and strong personal competencies, including teamwork and effective interaction with clients, vendors, and contractors.

The Electrical Design team handles electrical design development for projects in the mineral processing industry. This supervisory role on a large mining & metals project requires significant experience as a project lead in similar large-scale projects.

Day-to-Day Duties
  • Supervise and guide project designers.
  • Monitor and support work performed by Fluor offices or other entities.
  • Assign work, monitor, and manage deliverables.
  • Develop cost-effective project solutions for discipline design execution.
  • Review project scope, facilities, and baseline documents across all phases.
  • Develop estimates, schedules, staffing, progress reports, and manpower forecasts.
  • Establish, track, and forecast material quantities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and interface with other disciplines.
  • Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
  • Develop and review specifications and design criteria.
  • Update job execution plans.
  • Review 2D CAD drawings and 3D models.
  • Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Review layouts, schematics, fabricator drawings, and material analyses.
  • Perform audits and oversee scopes of work for third-party contracts.
  • Support proposal and estimate activities.
  • Ensure quality work and adherence to OSR and industry standards.
  • Participate in personnel development through mentoring and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements
  • Two-year accredited degree or equivalent plus 20 years of experience, or 22 years of experience without degree.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Technical knowledge necessary for the role.
  • Ability to learn local, state/province, and federal regulations.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of material availability and costs.
  • Practical field experience.
  • Intermediate skills in relevant computer software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two-year technical diploma.
  • 15+ years of experience in mining & metals electrical design.
  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
  • Proven leadership in design teams within EPCM environments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.
Salary Range

$126,500 to $235,500.

Market Rate

Typically at the midpoint, with final salary influenced by qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions.
