Job Description

WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

In this role, the Lead Digital Visual Designer will provide thought leadership, strategic advice and expertise to senior stakeholders and design peers on the use of visual design elements in digital media. The role leads complex projects, managing design and delivery of complex visual artifacts to facilitate interaction with RBC’s products and services.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Develops and delivers product design work and visual materials utilizing specific graphic design, web development, and animation/sound processing tools.

  • Interprets customers' design needs into feasible design ideas and information; provides recommendations in the design process.

  • Participates in the collection of customer needs for design work and gives suggestions to senior management on the implementation of strategic plans for graphic design.

  • Builds and manages relationships with stakeholders within and outside the Design team, becoming a trusted advisor and seasoned subject matter expert

  • Provides thought leadership, coaching and guidance to more junior Design team members with advice and expertise that improves their capabilities and fosters growth and development

  • Facilitates Design workshops and ideation sessions, and evaluates outcomes against business goals and objectives

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • University or college degree in Design or a related field or equivalent years of experience

  • Strong technical depth and breadth of expertise in Visual Design practice theory and methodology

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams

  • Experience designing and launching digital products

  • Experience coaching and mentoring team members

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience leading projects
