What We Need

The Lead Data Scientist will own multiple high-value workstreams within the Actuarial and Analytics Solutions (AAS) department through all phases of development, from ideation to design, build, and deployment. This includes modeling and analytics to support medical economics, payment integrity, and other financial areas. They will oversee advanced program measurements using statistical analysis and develop/executing predictive modeling use cases. They will contribute to the overall financial data strategy, ensuring the design and execution of data use cases to enable decision-making and insights. Additionally, they will mentor and provide technical guidance to junior data scientists and analysts.

Developing strong relationships with cross-functional business partners across organizational levels is critical. We seek a subject matter expert in healthcare and cutting-edge data science techniques to collaborate with Business Leaders, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to understand problems and co-own solutions.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Lead research, design, and implementation of data science solutions to support business needs
  • Anticipate and address complex data problems or trends
  • Evaluate and design new methodologies to solve problems or improve efficiency
  • Use statistical techniques to analyze messy/noisy data
  • Produce insights and recommendations from internal and external data sources
  • Drive the development of data models and pipelines
  • Manage the delivery of dashboards and visualizations
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and incorporate them into solutions
  • Coordinate with departmental leaders to ensure consistency in data findings
  • Communicate analysis and financial impacts to senior leadership
  • Mentor and develop a diverse team of data scientists

What You Bring:

  • Deep understanding of healthcare delivery, Medical Economics, Trend Management, Pricing, and industry benchmarks
  • Experience with machine learning, statistical techniques, and deploying predictive models
  • Effective communication skills across organizational levels

  • Customer-focused with ability to work in a matrix environment

  • Leadership experience in high-performance teams
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, R, SAS, etc.
  • Experience with cloud analytics platforms (Snowflake preferred)
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and IT collaboration

Education/Relevant Experience:

  • Minimum of eight years in healthcare data analysis, design, and delivery
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • BA/BS required; MS, MPH, PhD preferred

Salary Range: $163,800 - $200,200

The posted salary range is an estimate based on current information and may be adjusted. Compensation will depend on various factors including experience and qualifications. This role is eligible for variable pay and benefits such as paid time off, insurance, 401(k), and well-being programs.
