Job summary

RBC Technology and Operations in Toronto is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead a team responsible for designing and delivering scalable ETL/ELT solutions for Contact Center Reporting. You will mentor engineers, drive data platform initiatives, and ensure production readiness and high availability.

The role requires 5+ years of data development experience, strong SQL/Python skills, and experience with cloud-based data platforms. This is a full-time role with on-site work in Toronto.

• Operate in a 24/7 support model with rotating on-call responsibilities.

What will you do?

• Mentor team members as they build out their own technical skills
• Work in a cross-functional, collaborative team aimed at delivering high-value solutions.
• Creating software for retrieving, parsing and processing structured and unstructured data.
• Defining and building scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics.
• Supporting project team to scale, monitor and operate data platforms for very high availability and performance.
• Developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats.
• Design and deliver data solutions that enable real-time and batch analytics, self-service capabilities, and subject matter expertise across the ACBT platform.
• This role operates in a 24/7 support model with rotating on-call responsibilities and after-hours deployments.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

• 5+ years of Data development experience
• Proven track record of delivering and maintain data solutions in enterprise production environments
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a computer science or equivalent experience
• Proven experience leading a team of developers and delivering results
• Advanced knowledge of Enterprise Data Solutions
• Advance Proficiency in SQL, Python and Cloud-based frameworks
