Job summary

AdvanTec Marine in Chilliwack, BC seeks a seasoned Custom Fabrication Team lead to design, fabricate and assemble closures, doors, and hatches for vessels. You will manage a crew, coordinate with engineering, and address backlog while upholding safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in production, Red Seal preferred, and strong expertise in welding, fabrication, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a production facility.
• Red Seal preferred in Millwright, Electrician or Welder/Fabricator.
• Experience interpreting welding and fabrication drawings.
• Strong expertise in electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, electrical and hydraulics, assembly and quality control.
• Proven ability to lead a crew and coordinate teams.
• Demonstrates leadership, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Engineering Team collaboration to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Supervise Equipment Maintenance personnel or outsourcing needs.
• Support Production Manager in daily operations and planning.
• Lead daily crew talks and monitor hours (≥80%).
• Maintain department Preventive Maintenance records.
• Approve payroll and vacation time for the team.
• Drive safety and adherence to procedures and PPE.
