Job summary

AdvanTec Marine in Chilliwack, BC is seeking a successor to lead the Custom Fabrication Team. The role focuses on interpreting welding and fabrication drawings, overseeing electrical and hydraulic systems, and delivering projects on time.

You will manage a crew, collaborate with engineering, and uphold safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a production setting, Red Seal preferred, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-years’ experience in a production facility and multicultural work staff environment.
• Extensive experience interpreting welding and fabrication drawings.
• Strong expertise in electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with welding, fabrication, electrical and hydraulics, assembly and quality control.
• Able to operate with core values and lead a crew.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Custom Fabrication Team activities and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Coordinate maintenance personnel or outsourcing needs for AdvanTec equipment.
• Provide support to Production Manager.
• Daily crew talks and oversight of 80%+ scanned in hours.
• Track and maintain department Preventive Maintenance sheets.
• Approve payroll and vacation time for team.
• Monitor production flow and prioritize tasks.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE usage across the department.
• Lead by example in safety and workmanship.
• Communicate equipment issues to Production Manager and escalate when needed.
