Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE) invites you to join the Scotiabank Arena Culinary team, delivering winning service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will support the 2nd Cook and Dishwasher under the Chef team to ensure quality plating and consistent standards.

We require 2–3 years of relevant experience and a Food Handler Certification (Basics.fst, Toronto Public Health, or equivalent). Minimum flexibility for days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and reliability under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store ingredients as directed by the Chef.
  • Provide hands-on support to 2nd Cook and Dishwasher to ensure proper plating.
  • Maintain hygiene and a clean, organized work area in compliance with safety standards.
  • Follow recipes and portion/plate dishes according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with FOH to ensure guest satisfaction and support the team.

Job Description

As a valuable member of the Scotiabank Arena Culinary team, you will deliver winning service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will work alongside and support the 2nd Cooks and Dishwashers. As directed by the Chef team, you will ensure proper preparation and cooking techniques/processes are implemented.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients in an efficient and effective manner as assigned by the Chef
  • Provide hands-on support, training and direction to 2nd Cook and Dishwasher while on station to ensure final products are presented/plated according to specifications laid out by the Chef
  • Maintain complete personal hygiene at all times while on duty, such as washing hands at all necessary times, wearing a clean, pressed uniform, and properly restraining hair.
  • Follow established recipes and presentation specifications to portion, prepare, and plate
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area in accordance with food safety and health and safety standards
  • Ensure proper storage of all food ingredients in their respective areas, using proper rotation.
  • Report all equipment problems/maintenance concerns and food product discrepancies to the Chef.
  • Prioritize and organize tasks for speed and quality assurance.
  • Handle/clean kitchen equipment carefully and safely to prevent damage or injury; return equipment to its designated area.
  • Contribute positively to a team focused environment and maintain a proactive and positive relationship with FOH to ensure guest satisfaction is optimal.
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Adhere to MLSE service standards and policies.
  • Follow established recipes and presentation specifications to portion, prepare, and plate
Requirements
  • Must be available to work a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be punctual, dependable and flexible to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required
  • Food Handler Certification (Basics.fst, Toronto Public Health, or equivalent) an asset
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Red Seal Certification an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
