Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Lead Cook to prepare food following standardized recipes and production guidelines while ensuring safety and sanitation. The role may supervise and delegate tasks, work with knives and kitchen equipment, and adapt to client requirements.

The position runs Monday to Friday, with early morning hours, and requires experience as a cook, food safety certification, and the ability to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisor experience in a related role preferred.
• Experience as a cook or related role required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision required.
• Proven knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods, and safety regulations.
• Food safety certification required.
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and assigns daily work activities to staff and supervises the completion of tasks.
• Trains and guides staff on job duties and sanitation procedures.
• Cooks and prepares food following production guidelines and recipes.
• Sets up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items.
• Safely uses all food utensils including knives.
• Operates ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, etc.
• Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various methods on meats and vegetables.
• Arranges, garnishes, and portions food following guidelines.
• Stores food per safety policies and procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Maintains excellent customer service with a positive attitude toward guests and staff.
• Follows Aramark safety policies and procedures.
