Job Description

As a valuable member of the team, you will deliver excellent service in a high-paced, high-volume environment. You will work under the direction of the Sous Chef, Chef, Manager, or Supervisor alongside Apprentice Cooks and Kitchen Workers to assist in preparing various food products.

Responsibilities :
  1. Gather, wash, cut, season, cook, and store quality ingredients efficiently, as assigned by the Chef.
  2. Provide hands-on support, training, and guidance to Apprentice Cooks and Kitchen Workers to ensure the final product is plated according to the Chef's specifications.
  3. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following food safety and health standards.
  4. Ensure proper storage of all food ingredients with correct rotation.
  5. Report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, and food discrepancies to the Chef.
  6. Prioritize and organize tasks to ensure speed and quality.
  7. Handle and clean kitchen equipment carefully to prevent damage or injury, returning equipment to its designated area.
  8. Contribute to a team-focused environment and maintain positive relationships with FOH to ensure guest satisfaction.
  9. Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  10. Adhere to MLSE service standards and policies.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a fine-dining restaurant

  • Food Handler Certification (Basics.fst, Toronto Public Health, or equivalent)

  • Ability to work in various kitchen locations
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills within a team-focused environment
