Responsibilities

  • Prepare classrooms and organize materials for daily instruction.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in committees.
  • Engage with parents through meetings and regular communication.
  • Supervise duties such as lunch, recess, and after-school periods.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development.
  • Support festivals, recitals, and field trips.

Founded in 1980, Sunrise Waldorf School is situated on a stunning seven-acre campus in the Cowichan Valley, near Duncan, BC. As a full AWSNA member school and a Group One independent school under the BC Ministry of Education, Sunrise is dedicated to educating and inspiring students to reach their full potential through a rich, artistic Waldorf curriculum. Essential Job Duties

Sunrise is seeking a warm, caring and dynamic educator with positive classroom and behavior management practices, along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to support students with a wide range of abilities and foster an inclusive environment where all students feel safe and welcome. In addition to teaching both the BC Ministry of Education and Waldorf curricula, responsibilities include:

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor of Education, a B.C. Teaching Certificate, Waldorf teacher training, and teaching experience in a Waldorf school.

Employment Details

Salary Range: $55,120 to $79,627 depending on qualifications and experience
