Job summary

Apotex Inc. is a Canadian-based global health company headquartered in Toronto. The role performs R&D and Commercial release tests in compliance with GMP, develops methods for analyzing active and inactive ingredients, and generates complex scientific reports from diverse instruments.

The position leads NPD projects, defines specifications, trains staff on new instruments, and provides expert input on physical properties and polymorphism to support product development and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, material chemistry, material engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, or related field.
• Experience in physical property testing in a pharmaceutical R&D environment.
• Strong analytical, data interpretation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPD projects and supervise junior chemists in product development.
• Develop, validate and transfer testing methods for R&D and commercial release.
• Provide expert advice on polymorphic forms, particle size, and other physical properties.
• Maintain and improve laboratory efficiency and instrument use.
