Qualifications

Reporting to:Director, Capacity, Access & Flow

The Lead, Capacity, Access & Flow plays a pivotal role in transforming Ontario’s healthcare system. This position supports acute care and community-based initiatives to ensure seamless patient transitions and sustainable healthcare across the Central Region.

Here is what you will be doing:

  • Advance regional programs by identifying opportunities aligned with healthcare priorities and best practices.

  • Analyze health system data to evaluate proposals, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.

  • Engage stakeholders in planning, implementation, and quality improvement efforts.

  • Lead regional initiatives, collaborating with hospitals and service providers to manage risks and drive change.

  • Support committees, track outcomes, and integrate client/caregiver input.

  • Manage project plans and budgets for planning and integration work.

  • Monitor compliance with health service accountability agreements.

  • Promote workplace safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Perform additional duties as required.

Here is what you will need to be successful:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or post-graduate college diploma in health administration, health planning, business administration, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience in a related area. A Master’s level degree is considered an asset.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a multi-stakeholder environment, preferably in the health care industry. Clinical or management experience in acute care or related field is an asset.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Good knowledge of and proven ability to apply planning and analysis methodologies; uses sound judgment to problem solve and make effective recommendations.

  • Understanding of the current and changing dynamics of the Ontario health-care system and issues.

  • Proven ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information from a variety of sources such as information systems/databases, provincial reports, financial information, provider and public engagement.

  • Proven skill and experience leading and implementing complex initiatives aimed at accelerating transformation, change management and program development within a health care environment.

  • Project Management experience, preferably within a health-care environment, with proven ability to move complex projects from start to finish. Understanding and experience with embedding quality improvement initiatives.

  • Successful experience with negotiation and facilitation techniques and processes, including experience developing and facilitating complex sessions involving diverse stakeholders.

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Internally, communicates with colleagues throughout the organization; externally, communicates directly with various stakeholders.

  • Must be highly organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
