IMCO is looking for a highly motivated Lead Business Systems Consultant to join our team!
As a senior member of the IT Investment Applications team, the Lead Business Systems Consultant will serve as a trusted partner to IT Verticals and their business counterparts in executing strategies to enhance automation and implement technologies that improve IMCO's data management capabilities. This role entails understanding organizational objectives, conducting thorough analyses, eliciting business and system requirements, designing detailed specifications, facilitating testing, implementing solutions, and supporting production operations. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver value-added solutions while ensuring compliance with IMCO’s procedures and maintaining the supportability of all investment applications.
As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For:
- Collaborate with various IT vertical leads and teams to refine and develop business and technical requirements.
- Lead core data applications implementations, operational enhancements, and systems upgrades
- Lead planning and discussions with stakeholders to ensure full understanding of organizational objectives, priorities, and requirements
- Provide guidance and carry-out business analysis, and translate into technical specifications and solutions
- Partner with all stakeholders, including investment management, development, infrastructure, and third-party vendors, to develop solutions to supports investment strategies and corporate objectives
- Oversee and lead detail process mapping and document findings as related to core data and operations
- Oversee and contribute to the improvement of core data team’s capabilities through systems and operational process enhancements
- Contribute to business cases for systems implementations, and participate in RFP and due diligence processes
- Manage enhancements of data access and integration with source systems in alignment with IMCO’s growth strategies
- Engage technology architects and other IT partners to determine dependency and impact to the overall investment systems architecture
- Lead daily stand-ups, story walkthroughs, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other delivery ceremonies for the POD to assist team members in grooming business and technical requirements.
- Manage, design, and execute the testing process to ensure visibility, traceability, and execution to deliver high quality solutions
- Investigate root causes when issues arise, recommend changes, oversee execution, and maintain accurate documentation
- Provide mentorship and coaching to junior members of the team
- Disseminate knowledge and information with other staff in a collaborative manner
- Conduct risk-benefits analysis in clear technical and non-technical language
- Think creatively to design solutions with a forward-thinking approach to best accommodate future opportunities in IMCO’s growing environment
- Ensure adherence to IMCO’s processes and procedures, and the overall supportability of all solutions with proper documentation and training
- Strive to improve environment stability by working with others to set up and maintain production configurations
- Continuously improving service levels with all business users
- Understand operational risk and systems performance management in all initiatives
- Represent IT team to plan and execute Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Planning
What do you need to succeed:
- 10+ years’ experience in developing and supporting technology applications in the asset management or investment industry with 8 years in a business systems analysis or equivalent role
- 2 years’ experience in a leadership role supporting software delivery projects
- 5 years’ experience in supporting data management for companies specializing in financial products and advisory services
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Computer science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline
- Direct working experience to support data onboarding across different asset classes and instrument types
- Solid understanding of trading lifecycle, investment workflow and operational processing requirements
- Hands-on experience in data management, data governance, MDM solutions and aggregation from multiple sources and investment reporting
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of data governance principles, including data quality management. Demonstrates proficiency in concepts such as data-in-transit and data-at-rest, applying data quality frameworks and rules effectively
- Strong knowledge and experience in data onboarding to support the integration of new data sources into existing systems, ensure seamless data migration and transformation, develop and maintain documentation for data onboarding processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
- Strong practical knowledge and experience of investment data flow, aggregation, and visualization
- Proficiency with implementing scalable reporting platforms, BI and reporting tools
- Familiar with investment policy statement that governs investment approaches and strategies for clients
- Demonstrated ability to play multiple hands-on roles such as project management, requirement analysis, solution design and visioning, planning, testing, and solutions implementation
- Practical experience with systems and data integration with book of record applications and custody platforms
- Knowledge of application development life cycles including planning, requirement, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation, and post-implementation activities in agile and waterfall approaches
- Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate comfortably with both business and technical teams
- Domain knowledge in IT service management such as incident management, change management, configuration management and operations management
- Prior involvement with third-party vendors, internal and external operational audits
- CFA, FRM, CBAP, PMI-ACP, CSC, Lean and/or Six Sigma, or PMP designation is preferred
- Experience with Eagle Pace, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Platform
