WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Cash Management Technology Canada (CMTC) team is driving innovation by building next-generation technologies that transform how commercial companies interact with financial information and one another. Our Virtual Account Management/Liquidity Management System (VAM/LMS) program is at the heart of delivering cutting-edge solutions to address the complex needs of RBC’s commercial customers.

As aLead Business Systems Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will lead the analysis, design, and delivery of system requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical feasibility. This role requires a strategic thinker who can manage multiple priorities, collaborate across teams, and deliver impactful solutions that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Lead the end-to-end analysis of business requirements, translating them into detailed functional and technical specifications for the VAM/LMS program through the use of User stories.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and architects to ensure requirements are clearly understood and aligned with strategic goals.

  • Conduct gap analysis to identify areas where existing systems and processes need enhancement or customization to meet business needs.

  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions with stakeholders to gather and validate requirements, ensuring all perspectives are considered.

  • Act as the primary liaison between business units and technical teams, ensuring seamless communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business process flows, use cases, and system integration requirements.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of Business Systems Analysts, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to best practices.

  • Support testing and quality assurance efforts by validating that delivered solutions meet business requirements and expectations.

  • Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation, driving efficiency and effectiveness in system design and delivery.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • 5+ years extensive experience in business systems analysis, with a proven track record of delivering complex, enterprise-level solutions

  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks, with hands-on experience in user story creation and facilitation of refinement sessions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into actionable components.

  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Deep understanding of system integration, data flows, and business process modeling.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment with multiple priorities and stakeholders.

Nice-to-have:

  • Familiarity with Virtual Account Management (VAM), Liquidity Management Systems (LMS), or similar financial technology platforms.

  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly in cash management or treasury operations.

  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools, such as JIRA or Confluence, to support iterative development and collaboration.

  • Ability to lead and mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
