Job summary

Smith + Andersen’s Toronto office seeks a Project Designer II - Audiovisual to lead the design and integration of AV systems on complex building projects. You will define requirements, work with clients, architects, and engineers to deliver coordinated AV solutions aligned with scope, budget, and schedule.

You are an effective communicator and natural leader who keeps teams aligned, drives decisions, and ensures no detail is missed on demanding projects across Canada.

Qualifications

• Five or more years in the audiovisual or electrical field.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to work independently.
• Strong communication with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

• Lead client and user engagement to define audiovisual requirements.
• Manage design and integration of AV systems from concept through construction documents.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure buildable solutions.
• Prepare AV tender packages and ensure drawings and specs are constructible.
• Mentor junior staff in the AV department.
