The Lead Auditor will be responsible for executing internal and external audits across various construction projects throughout Ontario. The Lead Auditor reports directly to the Director of Quality. This role ensures objective assessment of compliance with quality management systems and regulatory requirements across a diverse portfolio of projects.

This position is based in Ontario with frequent travel to project sites across the province. What you’ll be working on:
  • Planning, executing, and reporting on quality audits for construction projects in accordance with ISO 9001, CSA, and client-specific requirements.
  • Developing annual and project-specific audit schedules, aligning with corporate objectives and risk-based approaches.
  • Supporting construction teams in understanding audit processes, requirements, and non-conformance management systems.
  • Evaluating compliance with quality management systems, regulatory standards, and project-specific quality plans across multiple sites.
  • Coordinating and facilitating third-party, client, and regulatory audits, including pre-audit preparations and post-audit action follow-ups.
  • Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and discipline leads to ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Preparing comprehensive audit reports and presenting findings to both project and executive leadership.
  • Identifying recurring quality issues and trends; contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across construction operations.
  • Supporting the development and training of internal auditors and quality personnel.
  • Participating in the review and improvement of quality procedures, forms, and records management systems.
  • Providing input into risk assessments, contractor evaluations, and supplier performance monitoring from a quality assurance perspective.
  • Maintaining a high degree of awareness regarding construction regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards applicable in Ontario.
  • Ensuring independence in all auditing functions, free from influence of project cost and schedule considerations.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a construction quality role, with at least 3 years in auditing or compliance within the construction industry.
  • Certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001 or equivalent) required.
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience auditing large industrial, ICI, or civil projects across Ontario.
  • Solid understanding of Ontario Building Code, construction regulations, and industry standards.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, CSA, and construction project quality assurance practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and field audit tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write concise, actionable audit reports.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with flexibility to travel extensively across Ontario.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain objectivity.
