Job summary

Stagevision, Canada’s largest Canadian-owned audiovisual and event production company, seeks an experienced Lead Audio Technician to lead audio setups for live, virtual, and hybrid events in the Greater Toronto Area. You will oversee tuning, troubleshooting, and strike with a focus on safety, accuracy, and client service.

The role requires strong live sound knowledge, leadership on show-site, and coordination with project managers, video, lighting, and staging teams to ensure flawless audio

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Audio Technician to join the Stagevision team. This role is responsible for leading the setup, operation, tuning, troubleshooting, and strike of professional audio systems for live, virtual, and hybrid events. The ideal candidate brings strong live sound knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to manage show-site audio execution while maintaining the Stagevision Standard of safety, accuracy, presentation, and client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the setup, operation, tuning, troubleshooting, and dismantle of professional audio systems for live events, meetings, conferences, hybrid productions, and staged experiences.
  • Operate digital and analog audio consoles, wireless microphone systems, playback systems, speakers, monitors, processors, intercom, comms, and related audio equipment.
  • Interpret event specifications, show flows, room layouts, input lists, stage plots, equipment lists, and run-of-show documents to ensure accurate audio deployment.
  • Complete system patching, gain structure, line checks, sound checks, RF coordination, monitor checks, playback testing, recording checks, and pre-show troubleshooting.
  • Lead and support audio crews during load‑ins, rehearsals, show operation, resets, changeovers, and load‑outs.
  • Coordinate audio requirements with project managers, producers, technical directors, video, lighting, staging, warehouse teams, presenters, performers, and clients.
  • Identify technical, safety, RF, power, connectivity, or schedule risks early and communicate practical solutions.
  • Maintain accurate equipment handling, packing, loading, labelling, tracking, and return procedures in accordance with company standards.
  • Support post‑event reporting, equipment issue documentation, and continuous improvement of audio processes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment on‑site and in the warehouse.
  • Represent Stagevision with professionalism, leadership, teamwork, and a strong client‑service mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in live event audio, AV production, corporate events, theatre, broadcast, hospitality events, concerts, or a related technical environment.
  • Proven experience leading audio setups, show operation, crew coordination, or technical execution on‑site.
  • Strong working knowledge of audio signal flow, mixing consoles, microphones, wireless systems, RF coordination, speakers, amplifiers, DSP, monitors, intercom, playback, recording, and live sound troubleshooting.
  • Experience mixing front of house, monitors, corporate presentations, panel discussions, general sessions, livestreams, or live performances is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow input lists, stage plots, technical drawings, room layouts, equipment lists, show notes, cue sheets, production schedules, and event run sheets.
  • Knowledge of Dante, networking basics, digital audio transport, system tuning, and audio measurement tools is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation; ability to drive company vehicles is an asset.
  • Comfortable working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional travel.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to lift, move, install, connect, and handle production equipment safely in a fast‑paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to following processes, safety practices, and company standards.
