Job summary

D&H Show Production Inc. is seeking an experienced Audiovisual Live Event Technician to join our team in Canada. You will handle hands-on setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown for diverse live events, ensuring reliable AV delivery.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in live event AV, strong knowledge of sound, lighting, LED walls, and the ability to read technical layouts. Fluency in English and Cantonese or Mandarin is required; flexible hours are expected.

  • Follow event requirements, floor plans, equipment plans, schedules, and production timelines.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional working environment.
  • Assist with equipment preparation, loading, transportation, setup, and teardown.

D&H Show Production is looking for an experienced Audiovisual Live Event Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience in live event production and is confident with equipment setup, operation, troubleshooting, and teardown.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and tear down audiovisual equipment for live events.
  • Work closely with production crews, technicians, clients, venues, and event organizers.
  • Set up and operate:
  • Professional sound systems
  • Stage and event lighting systems
  • LED video walls and video systems
  • Conduct onsite technical checks and troubleshoot equipment or system issues.
  • Follow event requirements, floor plans, equipment plans, schedules, and production timelines.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly installed, operated, maintained, and packed after events.
  • Assist with equipment preparation, loading, transportation, setup, and teardown.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional working environment.
  • Ensure events are delivered according to client requirements and production standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in live event or audiovisual production is required.
  • Strong hands-on experience with professional sound system setup and operation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with stage/event lighting system setup and operation.
  • Strong hands-on experience with LED wall setup, configuration, and operation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and onsite problem-solving skills.
  • Able to read and understand technical layouts, equipment plans, and event production requirements.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced live event environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Fluent Cantonese or Mandarin is required.
  • Functional English communication skills are required.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
  • Must be physically capable of working in an event production environment, including standing for extended periods and handling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with corporate events, concerts, conferences, galas, weddings, festivals, or large-scale productions.
  • Knowledge of digital audio consoles, wireless microphone systems, lighting consoles, DMX systems, LED processors, video switchers, and related AV equipment.
  • Experience leading or coordinating other technicians onsite is an asset.
  • Valid Ontario driver's licence is an asset.
