A leading engineering firm is looking for a Lead Archaeologist to guide multi-phase archaeological programs across Ontario. You will shape technical strategies and ensure culturally responsible project delivery while maintaining relationships with Indigenous Nations. The ideal candidate has over 15 years of experience in complex field programs and a solid understanding of relevant legislation. This role offers excellent compensation and is based in Halton Region, Burlington, Canada.

Qualifications

• License in good standing with the MCM required for fieldwork.
• Deep understanding of CRM business and heritage stewardship.
• Expert understanding of relevant provincial and federal legislative frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Guide multi-phase archaeological programs and shape technical strategies.
• Develop relationships with Indigenous Nations and community partners.
• Provide expert guidance on archaeological processes and risk management.

Skills

Professional or research license to conduct archaeological fieldwork in Ontario

15+ years of archaeological experience

Strong understanding of project financial management

Education

Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or related discipline
