Job description

Axiomatic_AI is dedicated to accelerating R&D by developing the next generation of Automated Interpretable Reasoning, a verifiably truthful AI model built for reasoning in science and engineering, empowering engineers specifically in hardware design and Electronic Design Automation (EDA), with a mission to revolutionize the fields of hardware design and simulation in the photonics and semiconductor industry. We seek highly motivated professionals to help us bring these innovations to life, driving the evolution from development to commercial product.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more projects according to company priorities
  • Take initiative to define short and long term goals
  • Align technical direction with company mission
  • Set research and development priorities according to short and long term necessities of product teams
  • Evaluate the quality of the deliverables according to scientific standards
  • Stay updated with state of the art techniques
  • Collaborate closely and directly with the other AI and dev teams
  • Foster sharing and collaborative group culture

Experience

  • Education & Certifications: PhD in computer science, artificial intelligence, machine learning for scientific applications or related field
  • Experience: Two or three years experience after graduation, either in academic or industry position

Technical Skills

  • Strong python skills, research experience as main contributor, familiarity with main deep learning frameworks
  • Soft Skills: Team player, thrives in multidisciplinary and multicultural environments, passionate about science and technology, motivated, hard-working, looking for growth and constant learning, quick learner, flexibility to work in a dynamic and ever changing environment
  • Other Requirements: Experience in supervising younger developers / students, availability to travel for about two months per year to other office locations

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • Background in physics, engineering or other related computational science
  • Track record of publications in top-tier journals or conferences
  • Internship or work experience in one top AI company
  • Strong experience in at least one of the following: reinforcement learning, representation learning, program synthesis, NLP, graph machine learning, applied machine learning and data mining, optimization, machine learning for theorem proving, agentic LLMs and RAG, machine learning for science

  • Projects delivered and impact (respecting deadlines, clarity of objectives; use within the company and external use)
  • Quality of work (scientific soundness, performance of developed algorithms vs state of art, etc.)
