Job summary

Arc’teryx Equipment is seeking a Store Lead to guide a team of Product Guides and manage guest experiences across the store. You will lead floor activities, coach staff, and ensure five pillars of the business—experience, product, community, operations and people—are executed daily.

You’ll handle inventory, merchandising, and POS transactions while collaborating with the Store Manager and Assistant Manager to meet targets and uphold Arc’teryx standards in a dynamic retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead in alignment with Arc’teryx Vision, Purpose and Values.
  • Support in‑store experience during shifts with awareness on the sales floor.
  • Coach product guides to deliver world‑class guest experiences with technical knowledge.
  • Lead from the floor five days a week to ensure exceptional guest experience.
  • Oversee the five pillars: experience, product, community, operations and people.
  • Build community by sharing brand information and event specifics with team and guests.
  • Coach and provide feedback to unlock potential and hit targets.
  • Manage inventory: receiving, restocking, destocking and visual merchandising.
  • Communicate initiatives and priorities to the team with Store Manager guidance.
  • Leverage POS to process transactions, warranties, used gear trade-ins, purchases and returns.
  • Open and close procedures; respond to calls/emails; occasional social media responses.

Job description

Store Lead – Arc’teryx

As a key member of the store leadership team, you will work alongside the Assistant Store Manager and the Store Manager, leading a talented group of Product Guides and facilitating the guest experience. You will be involved in every area of the retail store, including experience, product, community, operations and people, and you are inspired to seek ways to evolve our practices.

You are product‑obsessed and seek opportunities to get outside to experiment and learn firsthand how our products perform. You prioritize your connection with nature and celebrate others doing the same.

You are passionate about committing to bold objectives both personally and professionally, and you work closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to provide coaching on people experience, guest experience and business needs.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading in alignment with the Arc’teryx Vision, Purpose and Values
  • Supporting the entire in‑store experience during your shift, with an acute awareness of what’s happening on the sales floor at any given moment
  • Supporting product guides in delivering a world‑class guest experience through authentically sharing technical product knowledge
  • Championing floor leadership and exceptional guest experience by leading from the floor five days a week
  • Overseeing and leading the floor which includes the five pillars of the business (experience, product, community, operations and people)
  • Building community by sharing brand information and event specifics with the team and guests, ensuring each individual feels invited to join in
  • Coaching and providing feedback to product guides to unlock their potential and support the store in reaching targets
  • Managing inventory throughout the day to maximize sell‑through, including receiving, processing, restocking and destocking, and visual merchandising
  • Communicating all company initiatives, policies and priorities to the team in collaboration with, or as required by, the Store Manager
  • Leveraging all necessary tools to manage the store business operations, overseeing sales targets, labour and budget management
  • Networking with potential partners to support events and to maximize brand engagement in the community
  • Managing the opening and closing procedures for the store, as designed by the company and leadership team
  • Answering store phones and responding to voicemails and store emails; on occasion, this may include responding on the Regional social media channels
  • Rotating through areas of focus to deep dive into each of the five pillars of the business
  • Utilising the Point of Sale system to accurately and efficiently process guest transactions including warranties, used gear trade‑ins, purchases and returns

Expectations
  • All employees are expected to be available to work Black Friday (the day after US Thanksgiving) and from the second week of December until the end of the holiday season, as defined each year.
  • Fully accountable for and oversee the execution of all deliverables on the Store Lead Role and Responsibilities document, and perform the role responsibilities of the Product Guide as needed.
  • Under the direction of the Store Manager and Assistant Manager, perform additional projects, duties and assignments as required.
Availability Requirements
  • Available for a minimum of one open, one close and one weekend shift each week.
  • Availability must reflect the needs of the business, which may change from time to time at the discretion of the Store Manager.
  • Full Time – 30–40 hours per week (5 days per week).
  • Part Time – 10–30 hours per week (2–4 days per week).
Pay and Benefits

Compensation: Hourly – CAD 23.80–26.40.

Bonus Plan: Eligible to participate in a bonus plan based on store performance.
