Job Description

Dr. Kermanshahi (Dalhousie University) and Dr. Henderson (École de technologie supérieure, Université du Québec) are looking for PhD students with interests in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Technoeconomic Analysis (TEA) to conduct PhD at Dalhousie University. The goal is to conduct multi-objective environmental sustainability analysis of sodium-ion (Na-ion) battery technology. The research will involve LCA and TEA of different sodium ion battery manufacturing pathways to identify the “process hotspots” and “economic bottlenecks” as well as economic and environmental implication of recycling, taking a cradle-to-grave and cradle-to-cradle perspectives.

The research work includes the following activities:

  • Data analysis
  • Process modeling
  • Submission of high-quality weekly reports
  • Drafting proposals and manuscripts

Qualifications

  • MSc degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related areas
