We have an exciting opportunity to grow your career at Canpotex! We are accepting applications for a Laytime Coordinator at our Saskatoon office.

The opportunity

  1. Complete laytime calculations by extracting data from contracts, Charter Parties, Statement of Facts, and other relevant documents.
  2. Utilize software to calculate laytime, compare results, and interpret the findings to highlight key points or divergences.
  3. Handle intercompany reconciliations and reports for laytime costs.
  4. Maintain detailed records of all stages of negotiation, settlement, and events impacting vessel loading activities.
  5. Interpret how changes in various elements during loading/discharging operations affect demurrage/dispatch.
  6. Provide technical expertise on contractual clauses related to laytime and demurrage to manage potential commercial risks.

You have

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business, Mathematics, Vessel Operations, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum one to two years’ experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience in the shipping industry or an international trade environment with laytime calculation experience is an asset.

You bring

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Effective time management, attention to detail, and data analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of the shipping industry or international trade with laytime calculation experience is an asset.
  • Understanding of Charter Parties and strong contract interpretation skills are assets.
  • Experience with ocean transportation software, terminology, and documentation relevant to calculations and negotiations is an asset.
