Sony Imageworks Vancouver is seeking talented Layout Artists to translate storyboards, sketches, and verbal instructions into 3D sequences. Responsibilities include determining camera composition, angles, and movement; establishing set and background geometry; creating blocking for characters and props; and producing sequences that effectively convey the storyline. The role involves creating pre-visualization models and effects to facilitate animation, participating in reviews, and collaborating with clients and team members to solve problems and enhance creative output. Candidates should be able to work independently or as part of a team, following through on shot turnovers, notes, and feedback, and providing innovative solutions with a live-action sensibility.
Base salary ranges from $26.44 to $36.32/hr for Associate level, and $32.02 to $43.99/hr for Intermediate level. Benefits include healthcare, tuition reimbursement, RRSPs, Sick and Vacation leave, and standard increases. Actual salary depends on qualifications, experience, and location.
Applicants must provide a demo reel demonstrating relevant artistic and technical skills specific to this role.
