About the Opportunity

Yorktown Search Partners is conducting a confidential search on behalf of our client, a prestigious boutique professional services firm with a strong focus on legal and advisory services. Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Lawyer to join their Transaction Advisory Services team. This role combines business development with the execution of transaction-related legal services, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), due diligence, and contract negotiation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of generating new business and delivering high-quality legal advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development:

  1. Identify and cultivate relationships with potential clients to generate new business opportunities.
  2. Develop and implement strategic plans to expand the firm's legal advisory services.
  3. Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and networking functions.

Legal Advisory Services:

  1. Lead and manage buy-side and sell-side M&A engagements, including legal due diligence and contract negotiation.
  2. Provide clients with strategic legal advice on transaction structures, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients.

Client Relationship Management:

  1. Serve as the primary legal point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  2. Maintain long-term relationships with clients, providing ongoing legal support and identifying opportunities for additional services.

Qualifications

  1. Licensed to practice law in Ontario.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on transaction advisory services.
  3. Demonstrated ability to generate new business and build client relationships.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficiency in legal research and contract drafting.
  7. A verifiable and portable book of business is required.
