Job description

Dentons Canada LLP's Edmonton office is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Real Estate Lawyer with 4+ years of post-call experience to join our dynamic and collaborative Real Estate team.

The opportunity

Dentons Canada LLP's Edmonton office is seeking an ambitious Commercial Real Estate Lawyer with 4+ years of post-call experience to join our growing Commercial Real Estate group. Our team advises on a broad range of commercial property matters, including acquisitions and dispositions, leasing, development projects, financing, and related corporate/commercial transactions. This role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated files, support major clients, and grow within one of the largest real estate groups in the world.

At Dentons Edmonton, you'll benefit from the resources of a global firm while working in a close-knit, collaborative environment that values mentorship, innovation, and strong local relationships. You will work closely with experienced partners and colleagues in Edmonton and across Canada on meaningful, complex mandates.

We are looking for a talented and motivated lawyer who demonstrates strong substantive skills for their year of call, sound judgement, and the ability to think analytically, creatively, and practically. We value candidates who show curiosity, initiative, and an interest in developing the foundations of their own practice with the support and guidance of our team.

A genuine interest in the real estate sector is important, along with the ability to excel in a team environment while also working independently. Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing will be considered an asset.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate and commercial agreements.
  • Support clients on due diligence, land title matters, leasing, and condominium-related work.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across practice groups (e.g., Corporate, Financial Services).
  • Engage in business development and contribute to practice growth.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of commercial real estate experience, gained in private practice or through relevant in-house legal roles.
  • Member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta (or eligible for transfer).
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple files with competing deadlines.
  • Ability to take initiative, work independently, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service.
  • Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing is an asset.
