Adecco is recruiting a Law Assistant for a full-time permanent position in downtown Ottawa. The ideal candidate will support lawyers, manage documents, and coordinate billing, requiring strong organizational skills and over 2 years of experience in Family law. Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Job description

Adecco is currently recruiting for a Law Assistant for a full-time permanent contract role with our client based out of downtown, Ottawa, ON. Ideal candidate would have experience with personal injury and employment. Bilingual is considered a strong asset. This person will be working with 2 partners.

  • Compensation :
  • 12 personal days (sick and others)
  • 100 % health and dental from 1st day
  • Long term disability after 3 months
  • RRSP after 1 full year start at 3%.
  • Hybrid Flexible : Left to the discretion of the employee.
  • 35 hours per week
  • Working hours are within business core hours.

The Law Assistant will have the following responsibilities :

  • Filling documents in the document management system as per client
  • Coordinates the monthly billing.
  • Review the AR list.
  • Setting up meetings and appointments
  • As part of our dynamic and fast-paced Law environment
  • you will play a critical role in supporting our litigation team and assisting in the day-to-day management of the lawyers you support.
  • This position requires a proactive, organized professional who can anticipate needs and ensure the smooth operation of both Law and administrative functions.

The Law Assistant must meet the following mandatory requirements :

  • Over 2 years’ experience in Family law;
  • Ability to multitask, handle more than one professional, and undertake additional responsibilities as required within the practice group;
  • Ability to handle client relations;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Bilingualism both orally and written in French and English
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; and
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel.
