The Laundry Worker is responsible for operating laundry equipment related to the finishing of flatwork and tumble-dried goods. They clean and maintain their assigned areas to meet customer and client satisfaction. Additionally, the Laundry Worker folds, maintains, and provides cleaned linen to the operations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Receive and sort soiled linen into designated classifications.
  2. Operate automatic cart washer and remove linen carts from the washer exit.
  3. Operate flatwork ironer, small piece folders, and fold linen following standards; process specialty items.
  4. Ensure quality control to meet customer expectations; refer questions or issues to the lead or supervisor.
  5. Label and tag linen distribution carts, covering all linen carts prior to transport.
  6. Fold and store linen to maintain cleanliness standards.
  7. Assist truck driver with loading linen and materials onto the truck.
  8. Report supply levels to the lead or supervisor.
  9. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of the work area.
  10. Develop new skills and adapt to job changes as needed, contributing positively to the team and customers.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a high-production laundry environment preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and organize work efficiently.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment safely.
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods; may require uniforms and PPE.

Potential exposures include infectious disease, electrical equipment, burns, blood contact, heat and humidity, mechanical equipment, and sharps.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
