Job summary

Four Seasons Toronto is seeking a Full-Time Laundry Attendant to join our Laundry & Valet team. You will operate the sorter and dryer, sort and dry linen, and prepare items for use throughout the hotel. We seek individuals with strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and the stamina to lift up to 50lbs.

Starting pay is CAD 24.35 per hour, rising to CAD 27.05 with full rate. Legal work authorization in Canada is required; sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of housekeeping/laundry experience in a fast-paced hotel.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and operate laundry equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate sorter/dryer and sort/dry linen.
• Fold and press laundry for hotel use.
• Report torn or damaged linen to Housekeeping Manager.
• Assist with laundry room operations as needed.

About the role:

The Full-Time Laundry Attendant is an integral part of the Laundry & Valet Team who collectively is responsible for the meticulous upkeep of all linens used throughout the hotel.

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the operation of sorter/dryer and is responsible for the proper sorting and drying of all washed linen. The Valet Attendant is responsible for the Folder which involves the pressing, ironing and folding of all linens for their preparation to be used in the hotel. They must be familiar with sizes and classifications of the various types of linen the hotel uses and informs the Housekeeping Manager of torn or damaged linen.

What you bring:

We are looking for individuals who possess a high level of attention to detail and a strong work ethic. The ability to multitask and prioritize is also essential for this position. The ability to use all laundry and pressing equipment to clean each and every linen request to Four Seasons standards is required. The individual must also be comfortable around industrial size Wash and Dry machines and have the ability to learn the operation. The Laundry Attendant position is physical by nature and requires the applicant to be able to lift at least 50lbs. Repetitive motion and movements are essential functions of this position. The ability to safely utilize the proper cleaning chemicals is also required. The Laundry Attendant is in direct contact with the entire Laundry/Valet team and strong communication skills are essential.

Additional preferred skills and abilities:

• 1-2 years previous Housekeeping/Laundry Valet experience in a fast-paced Hotel operation
• Exceptional communication skills and command of English language
• Additional language a definite asset for career growth

Starting rate of pay of $24.35 and full rate of pay of $27.05.

Schedule & Hours:

Successful candidates possess an open schedule and the ability to work all shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
