Job summary

Bridgemans Services Group is seeking a Laundry Attendant on a fixed-term contract to support vessel operations. You will be responsible for cleaning, ironing, folding linens, and ensuring towels and sheets meet Bridgemans standards while maintaining a clean work area.

Two positions are available. The role requires prior housekeeping or laundry experience, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Shift schedules and site-specific safety protocols apply.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently offer professional resident service while supporting team members.
  • Coordinate supplies of linen and towels for hotel and galley usage.
  • Operate equipment to iron and fold items and inspect cleanliness.
  • Fold and sort cleaned articles and maintain organized work areas.
  • Follow Health and Safety regulations.

Rate: $CAD 27 per hour

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Consistently offer professional, engaging, and proactive resident service while supporting fellow team members to ensure an exceptional resident experience
  • Coordinate and ensure adequate supplies of linen and terry items for hotel and galley usage
  • Operate equipment to iron and fold items, towels, sheets, pillow cases, etc.
  • Inspect the cleanliness of articles removed from the washer and dryer, and place in clean linen carts
  • Identify stained or damaged items and determine status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard. Treat linen as needed.
  • Fold cleaned articles into the designated size by hand
  • Ensure that the work area remains clean and neatly organized
  • Perform daily, weekly, and annual cleaning and preventative cleaning on all equipment
  • Report all damage to linens or clothing to the supervisor, caused by the machine or chemicals
  • Follow Health and Safety regulations
Qualification
  • Previous experience in Housekeeping\Laundry Service preferred
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow team members, as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on client needs, remaining calm and courteous always
Physical Aspects of Position (includes but is not limited to)
  • Constant standing and walking throughout the shift
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
  • Requires constant repetitive motion
  • Environmental stress is high, work in extreme conditions, high noise levels, and utilize hazardous machinery

Vessel Safety Compliance As a member of the crew, you are required to participate in all safety and security-related training, exercises and other duties as assigned by the Master and vessel Management. Your primary role onboard the vessel is the safety and security of your work space, equipment, all persons onboard and the vessel in general.
