Job summary

AgeCare, managing Generations Toronto long-term care home, is seeking a Laundry Aide to support residents with laundry services and maintain a safe, clean environment. The role involves operating washers, dryers, irons, and manual tasks to ensure proper care of resident clothing.

Experience in laundry is preferred, with basic techniques understood. A minimum public-school education is required; Grade 12 diploma preferred, and ability to read, write, and follow oral instructions is essential.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.
  • Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices.
  • A minimum of public-school education is required.

  • Where applicable, licensed or registered for the position.

Responsibilities

  • Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements.
  • Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine.
  • Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering.
  • Performs simple mending and repairs.
  • Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors.
  • Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing.
  • Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required.
  • Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread).
  • Cleans work area upon completion of shift.

AgeCare has been appointed as the manager of the Generations Toronto long-term care home and is recruiting the Laundry Aide on behalf of Generations Toronto.

The Opportunity

The Laundry Aide performs various laundry duties associated with providing residents with the required laundry service. The Laundry Aide assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.

Salary Range: $23.76 - $25.39 per hour Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
