Job summary

Extendicare in Kapuskasing, Ontario is seeking a part-time Laundry Aide to join our housekeeping and maintenance team. You will handle laundry processing, ensure clean and safe linens for residents and staff, and follow established procedures for quality, safety and infection control.

You will operate washers and dryers, report malfunctions, manage supplies, and support the department's policies. This role offers mentorship, advancement opportunities, and a respectful, rewarding work environment.

Qualifications

• Washer and dryer operations experience preferred.
• Chemical handling knowledge a plus.
• Strong time management and multi-tasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects/receives laundry and performs cleaning and drying per protocol.
• Prepares laundry for distribution.
• Observes machine operation and reports malfunctions to Supervisor.
• Assists in maintaining laundry facilities, equipment and supplies.
• Monitors inventory levels of chemicals and linen shortages to Supervisor.
• Follows department policies on quality, safety and infection control.
