Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Landscape Junior Designer / Office Admin to support our operations and assist with projects of various sizes. This dual-role position combines landscape design responsibilities with administrative tasks, making it ideal for a candidate with both organizational and artistic skills.

The successful candidate will have a knowledge of AutoCAD, Spreadsheets and Point of Sale systems, have an extensive knowledge of perennials, shrubs, trees, grading, quoting and materials used in designs, excellent customer service, combined with the ability to work within defined deadlines. Must be able to quickly modify a design on site or assist customers with suggestions.

Design Responsibilities :

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their landscape needs and preferences.
  • Prepare presentations and visual materials for client meetings.
  • Stay updated on landscaping trends, materials, and techniques.
  • Work closely with installation team to ensure designs are implemented correctly.
  • Any other duties set out by supervisor or manager.

Administrative Duties :

  • Manage daily office operations, including but not limited to scheduling and correspondence.
  • Maintain files, records, and documentation related to projects and clients.
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent client service.
  • Prepare estimates, invoices, and project proposals.
  • Work with spreadsheets, Smart Vendor.
  • Assist with marketing efforts, including but not limited to social media and promotional materials.
  • Assist in managing customer relations, following up with new and previous customers to offer our services.
  • Coordinate meetings and manage calendars for the teams.
  • Any additional duties set out by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications :

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, or related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in landscape design and / or office administration.
  • Proficiency in design software. (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Pest & diseaseIDknowledge is a plus.
  • Able to lift 50-80lbs.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Reliable transportation. (Garden Centre not on bus route)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with landscaping concepts and plant knowledge is a plus.

Hours of Work :

This position is Seasonal, full time, and will be 5 days a week. Monday to Friday with minimal Saturdays and no Sundays.

Compensation :

The pay rate based on experience and education. Overtime is paid at 1.5 times regular pay after 44 hours per week.
