Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking a full-time Landscape Lead Hand to join its landscaping division in Brantford, Ontario. You will lead crews on client sites, coordinate equipment, and provide supervision and mentorship to staff while upholding safety standards.

Required are 3+ years in landscaping, team leadership, and the ability to read drawings. A G-class license and the ability to lift 40–50 lbs are essential. Ongoing training and career advancement opportunities available.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in landscaping, including hardscape and softscape.
• Experience leading a team.
• Plant knowledge is a strong asset.
• Ability to read drawings and prepare quotes.
• G Class driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Ability to lift 40–50 lbs.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a full-time Landscape Lead Hand to work in our landscaping division.

Job Duties

• Safely and efficiently lead crew’s in providing landscaping care for our clients
• Direct multiple crews and equipment for various work sites
• Provide support and expertise and leadership on more specialized jobs
• Complete Quality Control worksite inspections
• Provide mentorship and training to staff and oversee employee development
• Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in landscaping, both hardscaping and softscaping
• Experience leading a team
• Plant knowledge and identification will be considered and large asset
• Ability to read and understand drawings and quote is required
• Experience using landscape equipment is a requirement (eg. sod cutter, dethatcher, shears, pole shears )
• Experience using grass cutting equipment is an advantage, but not a requirement (eg. push mower, zero turn tractor, trimmer)
• Experience using lawn care equipment is an advantage, but not a requirement (eg. aerator, roller, spreader)
• 'G' Class drivers license and a clean drivers abstract
• Problem solving and time management will be an asset
• Experience driving truck with flatbed trailer
• Ability to lift 40 to 50 lbs
• Customer service experienced preferred

Additional Information

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• $25 to $28 / hour depending on experience
• 4% Vacation Pay
• Up to 40 hours a week
