Job description

Were Hiring: Landscape Foreperson – Horticultural Crew

  • $27-33 per hour.
  • Benefits after 3 months.
  • Company-matching RRSP program available after one-year employment.

Key Duties include:

  • Lead and manage a horticultural crew consisting of a foreperson, skid steer operator, and laborer on various projects across construction, residential, and groundskeeping divisions.
  • Supervise and direct daily work tasks for crew members, ensuring quality and efficiency across all horticultural and landscaping projects.
  • Operate and maintain skid steer and other equipment as needed for site preparation and landscaping tasks.
  • Plant trees, shrubs, and other vegetation; ensure proper planting techniques and plant care.
  • Manage the installation of sod, soils, mulching, and planting beds.
  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Drive company truck and trailer to transport materials, crew, and equipment to job sites.
  • Ensure safety standards and environmental considerations are maintained at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Valid "G" Driver's License and a Clean Driver's Abstract is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years field experience and 3 years crew management.
  • Knowledge of plant species, soil types, and horticultural practices.
  • Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools, and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices.
  • Experience with landscape construction, including but not limited to planting, mulching, irrigation, and groundskeeping tasks.
  • Ability to work long hours and the occasional Saturday.
