Job summary

Role Description

The Landscape Construction Lead Hand and Driver is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada. This role leads daily landscape construction activities, including site preparation, installation of softscapes and hardscapes, and coordination of materials and tools. Responsibilities include driving company vehicles to transport crew members, equipment, and materials safely between sites, assisting with loading and unloading, and ensuring vehicles are properly maintained. The Lead Hand supports the Site Supervisor by organizing tasks, guiding crew members, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and helping to meet project timelines and quality standards. Daily tasks may also involve basic gardening, irrigation setup, and collaboration with designers to ensure the landscape is built according to plans.

Qualifications

• Strong practical skills in Landscaping and Landscape Maintenance, including experience on residential or commercial projects.
• Hands-on experience with Gardening and Irrigation systems, such as planting, soil preparation, and basic watering systems setup.
• Understanding of Landscape Design concepts and the ability to interpret drawings or plans on site.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and experience operating work vehicles; ability to safely transport crew and materials.
• Ability to lead and motivate a small crew, delegate tasks, and maintain productivity and safety standards.
• Physical ability to perform outdoor work in various weather conditions, including lifting, carrying, and operating tools and machinery.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and attention to detail; commitment to high-quality workmanship and client service.
• Previous experience in landscape construction or related trades is preferred; relevant certifications or training in landscaping or horticulture is an asset.
