Position :

As a Lead Hand, you'll work closely with the Crew Leader to keep jobs running smoothly and on time. You'll be expected to lead on-site by example, help solve challenges, and ensure the client experience stays top-notch from kickoff to final walkthrough.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Client Experience

Support the Crew Leader in managing team performance and project quality

  • Help deliver a smooth, professional experience for the client
  • Keep communication clear and respectful across the team and with vendors

Execute installations according to plan, or adapt as needed to keep the vision intact

  • Operate machines and tools safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Crew Leader, Designer, and Project Manager on day-to-day progress
  • Fleet & Tools

Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained

  • Keep clear records of tool or equipment issues for the office
  • Safety & Site Management

Keep the job site clean, safe, and organized

  • Promote a positive, safety-first work culture

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in landscape construction
  • G-class driver's license with a clean abstract
  • Reliable vehicle for getting to job sites
  • Post-secondary diploma or relevant trade certification (preferred)

  • Confident team leadership and great communication
  • Comfortable with construction technology (apps for timesheets, site photos, etc.)
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure, adaptable when plans change
