Job description

We are currently seeking Land Use & Zoning Lawyers to work with Ontario-based government entities and municipalities in Ontario.

Responsibilities :

  • Advise government entities and municipalities on land development and zoning matters for large development projects, ensuring compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence reviews to assess the legal aspects of land transactions, including title searches, environmental assessments, and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist clients in obtaining necessary permits, approvals, and variances for land development projects. Prepare and submit applications to municipal authorities, planning boards, and regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary legal team, including real estate lawyers, environmental specialists, and regulatory experts, to deliver comprehensive legal solutions to clients.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Must be a licensed lawyer in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience specializing in land use law, with a deep understanding of provincial land use and zoning regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality and effective legal counsel in areas such as land use planning, development law, expropriations, development charges, and agreements, as well as advocacy before administrative tribunals.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts to clients and colleagues.
