As a core Government business, Land Titles provides an environment that ensures excellence in delivery of registration and information services to Albertans. Qualified staff in offices located in Calgary and Edmonton review over 160 different types of documents and plans.

Working in a quasi-judicial environment, staff examine legal documents to ensure they comply with all current legislation (in excess of 100 statutes), case law and policies and procedures before accepting them for registration. All registered plans, titles, and documents are available to be searched by the public, for a fee. You will be responsible for the integrity of the information contained in the Land Titles Registry.

As a Junior Land Titles Analyst, you will be responsible for the following activities:

  1. In a classroom setting, complete a comprehensive six-month training program.
  2. Analyze the validity and registerability of all documents submitted for registration.
  3. Perform all responsibilities associated with the registration function of documents.
  4. Research historical title chains when a document or title's accuracy is challenged.

In order to be successful in this role, you are expected to:

  1. Possess and exercise sound judgment and decision-making ability.
  2. Be results-oriented and have the ability to meet deadlines.
  3. Demonstrate strong analytical skills, and a high degree of professionalism as well as a strong sense of client service excellence.
Qualifications

Two-year diploma in a related field plus one year progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described.

Equivalency:

  1. Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.
  2. One year certificate in a related field plus one year progressively responsible related experience including completion of in-service, full-time six-month training program at Level 1.

The following will be considered an asset:

  1. Experience working with land titles in a legal environment would be considered an asset.
  2. Understanding of ALTA, CORES, and SPIN2 system.

This position works Monday to Friday from 8:15-4:30 pm, 36.25 hours a week.
