PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing / commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances, such as IEC 61850, to provide cost-effective and efficient power system engineering solutions. We are involved in projects from preliminary engineering through to commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Land Surveyor / Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. We offer a dynamic work environment with an experienced technical team, providing continuous challenges in engineering and design processes.

Phasor Engineering is looking for professional land surveyors to grow with us across North America. We are a subsidiary of Quanta Services, a leader in infrastructure solutions for the electric power, utility, and communications industries.

The Geomatics division offers survey services for large-scale power projects in Canada and the U.S.A. We are expanding quickly and seek professionals to support and foster this growth.

We are interested in land surveyors willing to obtain additional licenses in the Eastern States and provinces. Phasor will cover all related expenses. Work arrangements can be from home or hybrid, depending on the candidate’s circumstances.

Your responsibilities include supervising work in your licensed jurisdictions and potentially working within our LiDAR or UAV service lines.

Responsibilities:

• Manage all project execution aspects
• Establish communication protocols, including stakeholder identification, change management, information dissemination, and data reporting
• Oversee project financials, establish cost controls, and review risks
• Liaise with Phasor personnel to understand project requirements
• Manage subcontractors performing Geomatics work
• Coordinate shift schedules, accommodations, and mobilization for crews unless delegated
• Participate in division meetings and contribute to team planning and development
• Supervise and instruct project team, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures
• Review project charges and time entries for accuracy
• Complete required safety and project reports, including safety paperwork and safety plans
• Participate actively in safety meetings and ensure a safe workplace

Education and Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering
• At least 5 years of project management experience
• Safety tickets are assets
• Valid Driver’s License

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to work remotely at project sites
• Instructing Crew Chiefs
• Strong communication and English proficiency
• Proficiency with Excel, Outlook, and equipment-specific software
• Supervisory and organizational skills
• Understanding of project types and cultural awareness
